Giedo van der Garde delivered a very impressive performance this afternoon at Spa during the Belgian Grand Prix qualifications, qualifying his Caterham in 14th position on the grid. His teammate, Charles Pic, did not experience as much success after losing time when the stewards decided to weigh his CT03 in Q1.

Nico Hülkenberg came very close to qualifying for Q3 but will ultimately start at the edge of the top 10, in 11th position on the grid. Esteban Gutierrez, on the other hand, had to stop as early as Q1 after poor timing on the fitting of new intermediate tires.

Pastor Maldonado and Valtteri Bottas were unable to take advantage of the track conditions this afternoon at Spa. The two men were sent out too early by the Williams team, but they still believe they have a chance to come back and score points in tomorrow's race.

Bernie Ecclestone revealed that the Grand Prix of the Americas, supposed to take place in New Jersey and already delayed by a year, could be postponed again by another year. It would therefore only appear on the calendar in 2015.
