Official: Formula E unveils the rest of the season’s schedule

As the Formula E heads to Valencia this weekend at the Ricardo Tormo circuit for the 5th and 6th rounds of the season, Formula E has just unveiled its final calendar for the end of the season.

Following the double-header in Spain, the 100% electric category grid will head to the streets of the Principality in Monaco, using the traditional circuit for the first time.

Back from New York and London, Puebla joins the party.

The Formula E will then go to Mexico for a unique double-header at the Autodromo Internacional Miguel.E in Puebla, south of Mexico City. Usually used for several seasons, the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez cannot host the category this year, as it has been requisitioned to serve as a temporary hospital during this Covid-19 period.

The Big Apple circuit in New York is expected to make a comeback after the Mexican round. Also worth noting, the return of London to the calendar after 5 years of absence, but on a brand new circuit located near the ExCel Centre.

Having hosted the championship final last year, Berlin is retained for the position this year with a double header. The traditional layout should host the first race before a change of layout for the final ePrix of the championship.

On the absence side, let’s mention the withdrawal of Marrakech and Santiago, which had already been postponed. These races should be back on the Season 8 calendar alongside Sanya, Seoul, and the Paris ePrix.

With 15 ePrix on the calendar, this Formula E season, the first as a World Championship, should be the busiest. The schedule remains subject to the evolution of the global health pandemic and the restrictions surrounding it.

As a reminder, Stoffel Vandoorne won the fourth round of the championship while Sam Bird is leading the drivers’ standings.

With 11 races still to be contested, the battle for the Formula E world championship title promises to be tighter than ever!
