Ferrari: a one million dollar donation for Ukraine
In support of the Ukrainians, Scuderia Ferrari aligns itself with other manufacturers and announces a donation of one million euros to help the local populations.
The General Manager of Scuderia Ferrari, Benedetto Vigna, expressed his willingness to help the Ukrainian people, who are being attacked by Vladimir Putin’s Russia. While we hope for a swift return to dialogue and a peaceful solution, we cannot remain indifferent to all this suffering. Our thoughts and support go out to the Ukrainian people. We are playing our small role alongside the institutions providing immediate assistance in this situation, explained Benedetto Vigna.
The amount of the donation therefore amounts to one million euros. The funds will be donated to various aid organizations. The majority will be used to finance international humanitarian projects in close collaboration with the Red Cross and the United Nations Refugee Agency, and will transit through the Emilia-Romagna region.
As for the second part of this significant donation, it will benefit the Chernobyl Association of Maranello, which hosts Ukrainian refugees in the area of the Italian team headquarters.
The Scuderia is not the only one openly supporting the people. Indeed, Porsche and Volkswagen announced a few days ago that they are making a donation of the same value. While three-quarters of this amount will also go to the United Nations, the remaining quarter will be donated to the Ferry Porsche Foundation, an organization helping children and young adults.
On the same model, Mercedes-Benz made a donation of one million euros to the Red Cross, while the Stellantis group is contributing the same amount to an NGO in the Ukrainian region.
If donations are a considerable help, some manufacturers go even further. Like Ford, which announced the suspension of all its operations in Russia, along with a $100,000 donation to Global Giving. Scuderia Ferrari follows the same path, as it also suspends the production of its vehicles in the Russian market.
