A new name for Lewis Hamilton

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton appeared at the Expo 2020 in Dubai shortly after the end of the Bahrain tests. And naturally, the driver was questioned about a potential eighth world championship, which would allow him to hold the record for titles on his own. While the British driver recently admitted to being skeptical about this title, it doesn’t stop the other teams from being cautious.

Moreover, Lewis Hamilton has expressed his desire to incorporate his mother’s family name into his own name.

“It would mean a lot to my family,” he confides. “I am very proud of my family name, Hamilton. You probably don’t know that my mother’s maiden name is Larbalestier, and I am about to incorporate it into my name. Because I don’t really understand why women should lose their family name when they get married. I really want my mother’s name to continue alongside the name Hamilton,” the Mercedes driver revealed.

Thus, Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton would soon have a new surname. Throughout the British driver’s career, Carmen Larbalestier (Hamilton’s mother) has appeared on numerous occasions, notably at some races.

Just a few days before the official launch of the 2022 season, Lewis Hamilton admitted that he did not think Mercedes was capable of winning a new title, considering the recent difficulties that the Silver Arrows team has faced, leaving all his competitors skeptical.
