Charles Leclerc: Pressure should not impact Ferrari
Ferrari has been the center of attention since the Bahrain Grand Prix, but Charles Leclerc remains on guard and asserts that the team must not allow itself to be overtaken.
Last weekend, the Monégasque driver secured his second victory in Melbourne. Charles Leclerc is obviously still leading the driver’s standings, with a 34-point lead over second-placed George Russell. This renaissance of the Scuderia has thrilled the fans of the team, and with one week to go before the first race at home, the championship leader remains level-headed and does not want to succumb to the pressure of being the leader.
« Oh yes I can imagine it, Leclerc declared about the excitement of the Tifosi in Imola. « But I don’t want to think too much about it because we’re still early in the season. Obviously, it’s good to be leading the championship. Thirty-four points are always good to have, no matter where we are in the calendar, but I don’t want to focus too much on the championship for now. »

“The Italian Grand Prix is going to be incredible, but we need to prepare in the same way as the previous three weekends. I think it’s extremely important not to add more pressure on ourselves and not to try to do too much. As a team, we have been working incredibly well since the start of the season, and we just need to keep going, like we did during the first three weekends,” explained the Monegasque.
Charles Leclerc has already experienced a victory in the land of the Tifosi in 2019 and therefore knows what to expect, even if he refuses to think about it too much.
