Some improvements for AlphaTauri at Imola
The Italian team AlphaTauri is planning some improvements for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix this weekend.
For the Italian Grand Prix in Emilia-Romagna, Ferrari is not the only one getting ready for a home race. Indeed, AlphaTauri is about to unveil an improved AT03 in Imola. Currently eighth in the constructor’s standings, the Italian sister team of Red Bull aims to regain competitiveness and join the midfield battle alongside Alfa Romeo, Haas, Alpine, and McLaren.
And to do so, she plans to bring the first major evolution to the AT03. AlphaTauri has opted for a new floor and custom brake ducts at the front of the cars. These modifications should allow the AT03 to be faster on the track this weekend, and the French driver Pierre Gasly seems quite satisfied with these changes.
“It’s not like we’re really slow,” Gasly explained. “I don’t think we’re missing much, but we really need to make some improvements if we want to compete with the others.”
At AlphaTauri, Pierre Gasly currently occupies twelfth place in the driver’s standings after retiring in the opening round in Bahrain. As for his Japanese teammate Yuki Tsunoda, he is classified thirteenth with 4 points on the scoreboard.
