Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel had his bag containing personal belongings stolen on the sidelines of the Barcelona Grand Prix. He rode a scooter across the city to find it.
After his eleventh place in the Spanish Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel did not have the most peaceful Monday. The German had his bag stolen through the window of his car while he was parked in front of his hotel, according to El Periodico. Vettel had several personal belongings and important documents stolen while he was with his family.
In the lot was a pair of AirPods, Apple’s wireless earphones. However, these have the particularity of being geolocatable. The German pilot, equipped with his iPhone, hurriedly followed the signal emitted by his earphones and set off to search for them… on an electric scooter.
Vettel was able to find his headphones which were in a flower pot in a shopping center. The thieves had disposed of them to avoid leading the German to them. The driver alerted the local authorities who opened an investigation to recover the contents of the bag, without success so far.
