Charles Leclerc could have done better without the red flag

At the beginning of the weekend, Charles Leclerc is nearly unbeatable. During the qualifying session, the Monegasque was on a blazing pace and clinched the pole position, with no less than two tenths of a second ahead of his teammate and Sergio Perez.

At the very end of the session, as the drivers were giving it their all to regain the advantage of the first position on the grid for tomorrow, several drivers stood out: Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, and Sergio Perez. However, the latter made a mistake before the tunnel, causing a red flag.

But among these three drivers, one stood out, the local favorite, Charles Leclerc. In fact, he was ahead in the first sector by almost two tenths and seemed to be heading towards another record in Q3.

“I had a hard time putting the tires in the right window in the last sector because there was some traffic, and in the end, the rear was a bit unstable, but the stopwatch still came up, and I was improving quite a bit. I think I was four tenths faster when I stopped, so it was a good lap. But to be honest, the feeling with the car was amazing, and it’s great to have Carlos with me on the front row,” stated the pole-sitter.

Tomorrow, the Monegasque will once again start from the first position and will attempt to reach the finish line for the first time in the streets where he grew up. But beware of the rain, which could come and spoil the party.
