Sergio Perez also involved in Ferrari’s protest
The Mexican is also accused of crossing the yellow line at the pit exit.
It’s a real hammer blow that Red Bull could suffer. After the Monaco Grand Prix, the Scuderia Ferrari lodged a protest against Max Verstappen’s controversial exit from the pit lane, where he allegedly crossed the yellow line. If a penalty is applied, he would lose his podium spot, which would be taken by the local hero, Charles Leclerc.
But that’s not all. A few moments before him, it was Sergio Perez, the Dutchman’s teammate, who made the same mistake. He is also involved in the claim made by the Italian team. If a penalty is also given, he could lose his victory, which would be claimed by Carlos Sainz, who would obtain his first success in F1.
All those concerned have been summoned to the commissioners’ office at 7:15 PM.
UPDATE at 10:10 PM: The FIA has officially rejected Ferrari’s protests. Red Bull maintains its positions in Monaco despite Ferrari’s objections.
