Formula 1 could head towards Morocco
At the beginning of the week, an inspection delegation from the FIA went to Morocco to analyze the infrastructure of the Sidi Daoui circuit.
And if Formula 1 returned to Morocco? If this event is not the most well-known, it did indeed take place, only once, in 1958. This Grand Prix, which was held at the Ain-Diab circuit not far from Casablanca, was won by Stirling Moss.
64 years later, new discussions took place. Indeed, on Tuesday, June 21st, a delegation from the International Automobile Federation (FIA) conducted an inspection visit to the new Sidi Daoui circuit, as reported by journalist Ibrahim Al-Zubaidi.
The objective of this visit would be to analyze the different infrastructures that the circuit has, in order to have it approved at a certain grade.

If the latter were to obtain grade 1, he would be eligible to host Formula 1. Considering among other things, that the Belgian Grand Prix and the French Grand Prix would be in great danger in the years to come, Morocco could then join the party. Especially since one of the goals of the sport is to establish itself in new locations like Miami this year, Las Vegas in the near future, and potentially Nice or Madrid in the near future.
Morocco would therefore have every chance of joining the calendar of the top category of motor racing, provided that it obtains the precious sesame that would allow it to apply for hosting the single-seaters.
