Sebastian Vettel behind the wheel of his 1992 Williams at Silverstone
The four-time world champion will take the wheel of his 1992 Williams on Sunday morning at Silverstone. The run will be done with carbon-neutral fuel.
In a few days, she will have made a few outings. A week after the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Nigel Mansell got back in his 1992 championship-winning Williams, Sebastian Vettel will do the same this Sunday. A beautiful gift for his 35th birthday.
The Aston Martin driver, who acquired this legendary circuit car in 2019, will do a few laps for the delight of the audience. However, the environmentally conscious German will be piloting with carbon-neutral fuel. While this technology is completely different from that used in the 90s, it does not affect the engine’s performance. Sebastian Vettel guarantees that the sound will be the same as when it was in the hands of the British champion.

I expect to have a lot of fun and I hope that people will too, because it’s an incredible car, with an incredible story and sound, I can’t wait, “enthuses” the four-time world champion.
« I think it will be fun and it’s good to show that to people. Motorsport is our passion, it’s what we grew up with. The cars I dreamed of as a child are different from those of some other drivers, but it’s important to find a responsible way to do it in the future, in order to keep these cars and this history alive. Ultimately, one can express their culture in many ways, with music, with art, but our way of expressing ourselves is by driving cars, racing cars, and it would be a shame if all of that were to disappear. It’s a way of preserving it and moving forward. Formula 1 is heading in that direction for 2026, maybe even earlier, for many reasons.
