Guanyu Zhou declared fit by the doctors
The Chinese driver has left the medical center after his accident at Silverstone.
It’s a horrific accident that we witnessed. During the first lap of the British Grand Prix, Guanyu Zhou was involved in a five-car incident. He ended up on his roof before sliding for several meters and getting stuck between the safety fence and the tire wall.
After more than 20 minutes without news from the Chinese, the FIA and its team indicated that he was transferred to the medical center, that he was conscious and moving. After several examinations, he was declared fit by the circuit’s doctors.
– « I’m doing well, everything is clear. The halo saved me today. Thanks to everyone for your kind messages! », he wrote on Twitter, accompanied by a photo of his visit to the medical center.
Also involved in the accident, Alex Albon was more seriously injured as he was helicoptered to Coventry Hospital. As of the time of writing, no information regarding his condition has been provided.
