Williams worked under curfew
Members of the team based in Grove worked in the pits on Thursday night until Friday.
A new team violated the curfew. This Thursday evening, members of the Williams team were caught in the paddock. This area is off-limits to team personnel during a period determined by the FIA starting from the day before the first practice sessions.
The team founded by Frank Williams and currently led by Jost Capito has used its second wildcard of the season, out of the six allowed for the period starting Thursday evening. The Grove-based team will therefore not incur any penalties.
The FIA statement announcing this violation does not indicate the reason why the mechanics were present in the paddock last night.
For reminder, the ten teams have 8 wildcards for period 1 (42 hours before the start of FP1), six for the second (18 hours before the start of FP1) and two for the third period (13 hours before the start of FP3).
