Change of parts at Mercedes

The accidents have left some lasting effects. This Friday, during the qualifying session, both Mercedes cars collided with the tire barrier. Initially, Lewis Hamilton at the end of sector 2, and then George Russell in the last turn.

These two accidents damaged the parts of both cars, so Lewis Hamilton will have a new survival cell. This disrupted the second free practice session for the British driver as his mechanics had to work on his car.

George Russell’s gearbox was also a victim of the accident in the Mercedes 63. It was changed this morning, making it the third one used this season for the British driver.

None of these changes result in a penalty for both drivers.
