Yuki Tsunoda is at the same level as his teammate according to Helmut Marko
Helmut Marko believes that Yuki Tsunoda has made enormous progress in qualifying sessions. He is at the level of Pierre Gasly.
For his second season in Formula 1, Yuki Tsunoda has quickly improved. Last year, the Japanese driver made numerous mistakes during races and qualifying sessions. To address this issue, the Red Bull program asked its driver to move to the vicinity of Faenza and hired a psychologist to help him focus.
And it must be believed that these techniques have worked since the young driver is more consistent and has fewer track-offs. Moreover, he often even outperforms his teammate during qualifications. His performances have impressed one of his bosses, Helmut Marko.
Yuki [Tsunoda] is already at the same level as [Pierre Gasly] in terms of speed on a single lap. However, things are not going as well for the Frenchman in races, compared to previous seasons.
In accounting terms, the Japanese is not very far from his teammate, as only five points separate them. Thus, Yuki Tsunoda has accumulated 11 points since the beginning of the season compared to 16 for the Frenchman.
