The dates for the next Australian Grand Prix are known

The Australian Grand Prix company has confirmed the dates for next season’s Grand Prix. The event will take place from March 30th to April 2nd, with the Formula 1 cars hitting the track on March 31st. This will make it the third race of the year for the second consecutive year.

With the current agreement, the Albert Park circuit will be the season-opening Grand Prix at least five times until 2035.

The 2023 race, on the other hand, promises to be significant considering the likelihood of there being a driver born in Melbourne on the grid for the first time.

Indeed, Oscar Piastri is expected to replace Daniel Ricciardo in the McLaren seat next season. This would make him the third Australian to compete in his home race in Melbourne, following Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo, and the first from Melbourne itself.

The question is whether there will be two Australians on the grid next season, considering that Ricciardo is expected to lose his seat at McLaren to make room for Piastri. However, the Honey Badger would like to stay in Formula 1 and is rumored to be a potential replacement for Alonso at Alpine.

The Perth-born driver could land at Alpine in some sort of exchange with Oscar Piastri. Considering Piastri’s attempt to part ways with the French manufacturer.

The Australian Grand Prix in 2023 will also see the arrival of F2 and F3 races from the FIA for the first time!
