Max Verstappen elected driver of the day
For the second year in a row, the Dutch driver won the race, achieved the pole position, and set the fastest lap in the race.
He once again dominated but it wasn’t all smooth sailing. After a difficult start to the weekend due to a mechanical issue and a pole position achieved by a few thousandths of a second, Max Verstappen wasn’t as confident as last year.
However, the reigning world champion perfectly managed his start and Red Bull ensured their strategy in the pits, including during the various incidents on the track. The Dutchman and his team also took advantage of Mercedes’ and Lewis Hamilton’s mistake towards the end of the race to secure a fourth consecutive victory, the second on home soil.
Dutch is now almost untouchable with 109 points ahead and is increasingly heading towards a second crown. Jos Verstappen’s son continues his momentum and is getting closer and closer to the victory records of a former resident of the Austrian house: Sebastian Vettel.
