Max Verstappen: “We were the fastest on all the tire compounds”
The Dutch driver won his 11th victory of the season after a race finish under the Safety Car.
It wasn’t the most difficult one to achieve. This Sunday, Max Verstappen emerged victorious on Ferrari’s home turf in Monza, following a strategic mistake by the Scuderia and a race ending under a Safety Car period.
“We were the fastest on all tire compounds. The goal was simply to manage the gap at the end. Unfortunately, we were not allowed a race restart, but we had a great day,” he declared after the race.

The Dutch driver took advantage of a good start to race up behind Charles Leclerc, who started in pole position. He gained three places in just a few kilometers.
« It was going well, in the arguments too. I was able to really find my pace and come back to second place. Everything went well with the tires. »
Max Verstappen is therefore increasing his lead in the world championship and is getting closer to a second Formula 1 title. He now has a 116-point lead.
