Lewis Hamilton thinks that Red Bull is unbeatable
After a fifth consecutive victory, the 12th this season for Red Bull, Lewis Hamilton ensures that many efforts will have to be made to beat them.
It is a dominant display. This Sunday, at the Italian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen further solidified his position. With a fifth consecutive victory, the Dutchman has a more than comfortable cushion. With a 116-point lead, he could be crowned (with a bit of luck) in Singapore.
The dominance and pace displayed by the reigning world champion impresses his former rival for the crown, Lewis Hamilton.
« We will have to make real efforts to beat this car. In terms of performance, they are completely ahead of everyone, assures the Mercedes driver.
The 3rd place almost secured.
If the German team has made numerous improvements on the W13 to increase performance and reduce understeer, the two silver arrows still lag behind. The team managed by Toto Wolff is almost guaranteed a third place in the constructors’ championship. However, challenging the Red Bulls proves to be difficult in a fair competition.
We didn’t catch up with them, we don’t have any upcoming improvements to surpass them, so we’ll have to rely on luck turning in our favor. It’s not impossible because maybe we could have beaten them in Budapest. But they generally have a peaceful pace at the front, so you never know their true rhythm. We’ll see.
Mercedes remains however close to Ferrari, but Red Bull seems uncatchable considering their lead and the few remaining races. With 172 points more than the German team (and 139 points more than Ferrari), it’s hard to see how they could be caught up.
