Pierre Gasly encountered a tractor on the track
During the second lap, a tractor was seen on the track. Pierre Gasly barely crossed paths with it.
A situation that could have been much more dramatic. The start of the Japanese Grand Prix was marked by Carlos Sainz’s spin, Alex Albon’s retirement, and Pierre Gasly’s collision with a billboard.
All these incidents required the intervention of the safety car. Pierre Gasly took advantage of it to make a pit stop and change his wing after hitting the advertising panel.
Upon his return to the track, the Frenchman encountered a tractor on the track while trying to catch up with the pack. This caused his anger once the red flag was waved.

This dangerous situation is reminiscent of what happened in 2014 when Adrian Sutil went off track. His accident required the intervention of a tractor in a dangerous situation, only marked by a yellow flag. Jules Bianchi also went off track at the same spot a few moments later and collided with the heavy vehicle.
The Frenchman stayed in the hospital for many months before succumbing to his injuries.
