Haas pays tribute to one of its mechanics who passed away on its livery
The team will pay tribute to Harvey Cook with a message on the front wing of the race car.
Sad weekend for Haas. At the end of October, the American team is racing on home soil in Austin. For the occasion, the team has a special livery, and Mick Schumacher has special colors for the celebration.
But, the celebration did not last. On social media, Haas announced some sad news. During the night from Thursday to Friday, the team lost one of their own. Harvey Cook, a 31-year-old mechanic, passed away due to cancer.
Since yesterday, many tributes have been paid to him and both cars will see his name inscribed on the front wing. Today, I mourn the loss of my friend and colleague Harvey Cook, who unfortunately lost his battle against cancer. My thoughts go out to his wife Amy Cook, their families, and of course, to all those who had the pleasure of working with him and spending time with him, wrote Graham Frazier, the chief mechanic of the Haas garage, on Twitter.
The team has also decided to place their helmet on a column to pay tribute to him throughout the weekend.
