Sebastian Vettel pays tribute to Dietrich Mateschitz on his helmet
Vettel is no stranger to special liveries for his helmets. This time, the design will pay tribute to his first mentor, Dietrich Mateschitz.
Sébastian Vettel regains his legendary momentum on the track with two outstanding performances at the Japanese Grand Prix and also in the United States.
Shortly before the qualifying session on the Texan circuit, the paddock learned about the death of the founder of Red Bull and owner of both Red Bull and AlphaTauri teams.
Sebastian Vettel was very moved by this news. He was the first driver to give Red Bull victory, starting from the small Scuderia Toro Rosso at the time, and also achieved the first successes for the main team as well as the world championship title.
The German driver is a pure product of the Red Bull pipeline, and thanks to the young driver program, he was able to achieve his dream of F1 and obtain a record that ranks him among the greatest in the discipline.
In order to pay tribute to the founder of the Austrian company, Vettel will sport a helmet this weekend that takes inspiration from his early days at Red Bull, featuring the colors of the famous can, grey and blue, as well as the red bull. The only notable difference is the message “Danke Didi!” (Thank you Didi!) replacing Red Bull.
Dietrich Mateschitz was a pioneer and legend not only of @redbullracing, but of our sport.
As a tribute and mark of respect, Sebastian Vettel will return to one of his original, iconic helmet designs at this weekend’s #MexicoGP.
From everybody at @AstonMartinF1, Danke Didi. #F1 pic.twitter.com/XMu99Hf6A7
