Budgetary cap: Red Bull fined $7 million
The Austrian team that exceeded the budget cap has been heavily sanctioned by the FIA. They will have to pay a fine of 7 million dollars and will see their development time reduced.
The fine is hefty. Red Bull, found guilty of breaching the budget limits, now faces its punishment in 2021. After signing an admission of guilt agreement, the team managed by Christian Horner is being fined 7 million dollars. It has 30 days to settle the amount with the FIA.
Red Bull is also facing a 10% reduction in their aerodynamic testing time for this minor infraction. This penalty applies for the 2023 season.
The FIA has released a statement in which it outlines the details of the sanctions.
RBR must pay a financial penalty of 7 million dollars to the FIA within 30 days following the date of execution of the ABA (Article 9.5 of the Financial Regulations).
Regarding Aston Martin, who did not exceed the budget and is under the accusation of procedural infringement, their sanction has not yet been disclosed.
