Carlos Sainz penalized after engine change
The Spaniard installed his 6th engine on his Ferrari. He will drop 5 places on the grid.
The end of the championship is going to be complicated for Carlos Sainz. The Spanish driver, who has dropped down in the standings in the last few races, will have a hard time climbing back up. In Brazil, the number 55 driver installed a sixth engine in his Ferrari.
While the drivers are limited to three power units in one practice session, Charles Leclerc’s teammate will drop five positions on the starting grid on Sunday. The penalty will not affect the sprint race.
The Spaniard has also installed an eighth exhaust system and remains within the allowed limit. The Alfa Romeo drivers have also changed this part and will not be penalized either.
