Günther Steiner thanks Mick Schumacher for his investment

Two short seasons in Formula 1. The announcement of Mick Schumacher’s departure from the Haas team was made official this Thursday, November 17th. The German driver failed to convince his bosses to keep him. Even though he scored his first points this year, it was evidently not enough.

Despite disappointing results, Günther Steiner was keen to highlight his driver’s involvement during these two years. (e)
I would like to thank Mick Schumacher for his contribution to the team over the past two years.

The pedigree of Mick in the junior categories was well known and he continued to grow and develop as a driver during his time with Haas F1 Team – culminating in his first successes in Formula 1 with points earlier this season. While choosing to go in different directions for the future, the whole team wishes Mick good luck for the next stages of his career and beyond.

The 2020 Formula 2 world champion managed to secure an eighth place finish at Silverstone and a sixth position a few days later in Austria. With 12 points before the final race, he has a total of 12 points and is currently in 16th place in the drivers’ standings.
