Sebastian Vettel is a true legend of motor racing and he has forever left his mark on the history of Formula 1. Tributes to this iconic driver have been pouring in since the start of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
A long love story with Red Bull
At the dawn of the 2010s, Sebastian Vettel is a promising young talent. The German driver displays impressive speed and quickly proves himself to be competitive in races. He is the gem that every team wants to have on their side. Red Bull will support this young prodigy and propel him as a full-time driver at Toro Rosso in 2008. He will win his first Grand Prix at Monza before joining the parent company in 2009.
From his first season with Red Bull in 2009, he showed great performance and secured the team’s first victory. He finished the season in second place in the championship. Sebastian Vettel emerged in 2010 and took over Formula 1 by winning 4 consecutive world championships (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013). He propelled Red Bull to another level by winning 4 consecutive constructors’ titles with his team (from 2010 to 2013).
A touching tribute
For the departure of the driver who led him to the top of Formula 1, Red Bull wanted to pay a strong and emotional tribute by giving him a wing endplate from one of the cars he took to victory. It was Christian Horner, the boss of Red Bull and an important figure during Vettel’s time at Red Bull, who presented this gift to the four-time German world champion.
