Honda congratulates Max Verstappen with a sports car
Max Verstappen visited Japan for Honda Thank Day on Saturday. The Dutch driver took the wheel of a Formula 1 car for the last time this year, and received a very special gift!
Seiji Kuraichi, the head of Honda, congratulated Max Verstappen in front of tens of thousands of fans for his second consecutive World Championship title with the Red Bull powered by Honda. To thank him, Seiji Kuraichi offered the Dutch driver a gray Honda NSX Type S as an additional bonus for his performances! A gift valued at around €200,000!
Delighted by this new acquisition, the two-time world champion shared his enthusiasm:
What an incredible gift, what a beautiful car. I am very proud to have obtained this one, so thank you very much for it.
Between the rainy test sessions at Motegi, Max Verstappen will have found the time to try out the NSX-GT development car.
This Sunday will take place the first edition of the Day of Grace since the opening of the Japanese borders following the COVID-19 pandemic. Max Verstappen will be among the many international stars of the Honda motorsport team on two and four wheels who will participate in the celebration. The two-time world champion and his teammate Sergio Pérez will perform a special demonstration with last year’s Red Bull RB16B. Similarly, Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda from AlphaTauri will drive the 2020 AT01.
