Max Verstappen officially receives his title

If he is a double world champion on paper, he will be officially declared so on Friday, December 9th. On that day, Max Verstappen will receive his title during the annual FIA awards ceremony.

The 2022 edition will take place in Bologna, Italy and is organized by the Automobile Club of Italy. The Dutchman will not be the only honored driver as the FIA will pay tribute to the new generation, unsung heroes, and those who have made a contribution to motorsports.

“I am very happy that the FIA 2022 award ceremony, my first as President of the FIA, is taking place in Bologna, in a beautiful region of motorsport,” said Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the President of the FIA, who will be presiding over this event for the first time.

We would like to thank the Automobile Club of Italy (ACI), the Emilia-Romagna Region, and the Italian Trade Agency for welcoming us, as well as our partners Rolex, Hankook, Brembo, Marelli, OMP, and Bell for their full support. I’m looking forward to celebrating the 2022 champions and sharing this great event with all motorsport fans on the FIA’s social media channels.

For those who wish to follow the ceremony live, it will be broadcasted on the TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube channels of the FIA, starting at 9:30 PM Paris time.
