Susie Wolff could take over at Williams
The wife of the Mercedes boss could also join Formula 1, as head of Williams.
The transfer season is indeed over for the drivers, but that is not the case for the team directors. At the beginning of this week, we witnessed numerous changes. Fred Vasseur, Andreas Seidl, and Andrea Stella have all found a new position.
Jost Capito, Williams’ boss, also left his seat vacant. And they still haven’t found a replacement. At the moment, no announcement has been made by the team based in Grove, but several British media outlets have suggested that Susie Wolff could replace the German.
Toto Wolff’s wife already has extensive experience as a driver, but also as a team manager. In 2018, she was managing the Venturi team while being involved in Formula E. She stayed there for three years.
For reminder, she had been hired by Williams in 2012 for the development of their race car and had participated in a testing session at Silverstone in 2014.
Yes, on paper, she has the qualities to assume this position, she could be the target of criticism because her husband, Toto Wolff, is also the boss of another team: Mercedes.
