Determined, the Formula 1 team based in Silverstone knows that Fernando Alonso’s ambition and competitiveness can only be an asset for them. Although the Spanish driver announced at the beginning of the 2022 season that he was leaving Alpine to join Aston Martin, this new start proves to be a challenge for him in his quest for the world championship title.

Aston Martin aims to become world champion with Fernando Alonso.

Tom McCullough, Aston Martin’s Performance Director, is thrilled to announce that he will be working alongside the double world champion. Undoubtedly, he knows that the Spanish driver is hungry for victory. Tom McCullough also hopes that Alonso’s passion and ambition could lead to a positive turnaround for both parties! It seems that these two have found a good match considering their thirst for success, and the Spanish driver could potentially reignite the team’s momentum…

Interviewed by Formula1.com, the performance director stated that he is still learning about his driver. “I can tell you one thing: he is a very motivated and competitive individual – you can see it from the outside. I’m starting to see it a little more when I talk to him,” he continued.

He is solely focused on doing well. He sees a bright future with our team. He sees the journey we are embarking on. We are really happy to have him in our team. He will push us in all areas of the team, he concluded.
