Fernando Alonso sees Lance Stroll as a future world champion
Double Formula 1 world champion, Fernando Alonso, speaks highly of his new teammate at Aston Martin, Lance Stroll.
Genuine thought or comment to please? Either way, these words were indeed spoken by Fernando Alonso. The Spanish driver, who has just joined the Aston Martin team, has already spoken highly of his new teammate, who happens to be the boss’s son.
With Lance, the team has a driver who is super young, super talented, and has the potential to be a World Champion. Seeing him achieve that and having played a role in his success, whether behind the wheel or not, will be something special for me, he said. He added that Lance Stroll is an underrated driver and deserves more recognition.
Is Lance Stroll an underrated driver?
He has the speed, and he has the talent. He has shown it on several occasions, especially in wet conditions. I remember Lance’s pole position in Turkey and some of his other excellent performances in the rain; to be so proficient in difficult conditions, you have to have a special feeling with the car.
Here, the two-time world champion has taken on a new challenge after a season of difficulties at Alpine, where reliability prevented him from performing. He believes that this new adventure can excite him.
“I would still be very proud if the team wins without me in the car. I will be very proud of the process and my contribution to the project,” he confided in an interview on the team’s website.
