Nico Hülkenberg has had “two intense months”

Three years away from a Formula 1 steering wheel. He has, admittedly, done some stints with Aston Martin and completed testing sessions, but his last full season dates back to 2019. To compensate for this long absence, Nico Hülkenberg has undergone intense physical preparation this winter.

The offseason has been a mix of many things to be honest. I did a lot of sports, it was two intense months that I mainly used to physically rebuild myself, said the 35-year-old driver.

From now on, I am fresh, and I feel ready to start [the season].

The man who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015 with Porsche also took advantage of the holiday season to spend time with his family. There was also Christmas with family and friends, and overall it was a very enjoyable time.

Now a regular driver for Haas, Nico Hülkenberg will finally try to secure a podium in the premier discipline of motorsport. He currently stands at 198 Grand Prix races without managing to step onto the podium. He could have achieved this feat in Germany in 2019, but he ended up in the gravel trap due to a wet and treacherous track.
