The FIA launches a call for tenders to supply the tires for F1 from 2025
The F1 will launch a call for tenders in the coming days to find the next tire supplier for 2025, 2026, and 2027. Pirelli, the current manufacturer, would position itself as a candidate.
The Italian manufacturer has been equipping the fastest single-seaters in the world since 2011. But that could soon change. Indeed, the World Motor Sport Council has confirmed that a tender will soon be launched to find the next supplier.
This call for bids will concern the seasons 2025, 2026, 2027, and possibly 2028. It can only be won by a single manufacturer. Therefore, the battle between two brands, as has been the case on numerous occasions, will have to wait once again.
For now, no tire specialist has clearly expressed their ambition to apply, but Pirelli, who has been present for 12 years already, could put forward its candidacy. Obviously, the decision is not in our hands, but we are happy with our presence in Formula 1 and we wish to continue, confirmed Mario Isola, the sports director of Pirelli.
