He was expected at the arrival of the second stage of the Tour Auto. When the V8 of his Shelby Cobra released its last sounds on the outskirts of Clermont-Ferrand, this Wednesday, April 19th, an impressive crowd gathered around the car.

Once out of his sports car, Henri Pescarolo was being solicited from all sides. Media, organizers, and fans were asking him for photos and autographs. The four-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans was reconnecting with the city of Clermont-Ferrand, a place dear to him as the Circuit de Charade sits high above the Puy-de-Dôme prefecture. A track considered by Stirling Moss as the most beautiful in the world, and not just him.

“I completely share his opinion,” confirms Henri Pescarolo.

On May 21st, on the occasion of the Charade Super Show, the 80-year-old driver is expected to be reunited with his Matra, which he will drive on the old 8-kilometer Charade track, which is open exceptionally.

If this will exists and it happens, it’s very beautiful.

In addition to his successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Pescarolo participated in 56 Formula 1 Grand Prix races during his career in the 1970s. He notably managed to step on the podium once, finishing 3rd in the 1970 Monaco Grand Prix driving a Matra MS120.
