Departure from the pits for Esteban Ocon
The French driver is forced to start not from the grid but from the pit lane for changes under the Park Fermé procedure.
Departures. Yes, plural. Esteban Ocon will have to start from the pit lane for both races scheduled in Baku. The sprint race and the Grand Prix, this Sunday. Alpine made changes under Parc Fermé conditions on car number 31.
The FIA states that Alpine has modified the suspensions on the Normand’s car. He was supposed to start 13th in the sprint and 12th in the race. Pierre Gasly will apparently start 18th in both races.
This adds to the many problems of the French team since the beginning of the weekend. Pierre Gasly, in the second car, had very little time on track during the first day. A fire broke out on his car during the morning practice session. In the afternoon, he hit the wall at turn 3 during Q1. Finally, on Saturday morning during the shootout, he stayed in the pit lane for a long time and only participated in the first session.
