Logan Sargeant absent from the sprint race
Williams has confirmed that their driver will not be starting this Saturday at 3:30 pm due to his accident during the qualification shootout.
The Baku circuit has claimed many victims. First, Pierre Gasly, then Nyck de Vries. And finally, Logan Sargeant. During the qualifying shootout, the American driver crashed into the wall in the final seconds of the first session of the session.
He destroyed the entire left side of his car and prevented it from participating in the second phase, despite managing to qualify for Q2. But the problems don’t stop there. The extensive damage caused by this accident prevents him from taking part in the sprint race scheduled for Saturday, April 29th.
Indeed, Williams asked the FIA if they could withdraw the car from the race due to the accident that occurred this morning. The organization responded favorably. There will therefore only be 18 cars on the grid, Esteban Ocon will be forced to start from the pit lane.
