Mercedes is capable of both the best and the worst. From being in the top two positions during the first free practice sessions, to struggling during qualifying, only to make a comeback during the race. The German team’s Grand Prix weekends are like roller coasters.

But what matters most in the end is the outcome of the race. That’s where the points are scored. And in this field, Mercedes is much more efficient here than in the other sessions. Lewis Hamilton showed it with his comeback from 13th place on the grid. His teammate did too.

Having started from sixth place, George Russell maintained a better pace than the Ferraris to secure fourth place. It was a truly satisfying race for us today. After the difficulties faced during the qualifying session, we felt like we were having a more regular day. Finishing P4 on merit and ahead of the Ferraris was the best we could do, states the British driver.

However, the Miami Grand Prix was tough for the former Williams driver, who is awaiting new developments on his W14 from Imola, the next event. Despite today’s positive points, we know that we still have a lot of work to do and that we need to make significant improvements to reduce the gap with Red Bull.

For now, the German team is the third strongest on the grid. With 96 points, Mercedes is not far from Aston Martin, six points ahead.
