Ferrari will donate one million euros after the floods in Italy

Emilia-Romagna has been affected by very significant floods, leading to the cancellation of the Grand Prix, initially scheduled for this weekend in Imola. The Bologna region was submerged in water on Wednesday and remained so on Thursday morning.

A donation that adds to the fundraiser

As of May 18th, there were eleven dead, several missing, dozens injured, but also considerable material damage. Unfortunately, the toll may not be final, as several of the 20 rivers are still overflowing.

In response to this, Scuderia Ferrari has decided to work to help the victims and those affected by these floods. The Italian company will donate one million euros to the Agency of the Emilia-Romagna Region for territorial security and Civil Protection. This donation will be added to the fundraising campaign to help the victims.

Investing in environmental protection

The funds will be used, in coordination with the authorities, to help the populations affected by the recent floods. In particular, on projects for repairing the environment and managing hydrogeological instability, the Scuderia stated in their press release.

We wanted to provide immediate assistance and response to the most urgent needs of the population of Emilie-Romagne. In collaboration with the local authorities, who have worked tirelessly and for whom we thank, this aid will bring comfort and a sign of solidarity from the entire Ferrari family, added Ferrari CEO Benedetti Vigna.
