Zak Brown believes that the Norris-Pastri duo is the best for the future
Despite a difficult start to the year 2023 for the British team, Zak Brown is convinced that the best is yet to come, partly thanks to his duo of drivers, the most promising on the grid.
A reshuffle during the offseason saw Andreas Seidl leave to be replaced by team principal Andrea Stella.
McLaren is currently fifth in the constructors’ championship but only has 14 points from the first five races of 2023. Lando Norris’ sixth place in Melbourne is still the team’s best performance of the season so far.
But despite a difficult start to the 2023 season, Brown sought to highlight the positive aspects, emphasizing the cultural change that Stella is trying to bring about, and noting that the partnership between Norris and Oscar Piastri was arguably the best in F1.
“The energy within the team right now is impressive,” stated Brown to the media.
« You have a bad weekend, you question yourself. Everyone is very motivated. The mindset is excellent and it’s something Andrea really focuses on ».
We will have good and bad days, that’s Formula 1. But we are all very excited. We catch a glimpse of what awaits us in the distance.
« We are also positive thanks to our duo of drivers. I believe that the Norris-Piastri duo, for the future, is as good as any other duo, if not better considering the youth and experience they have, so we are excited for what’s to come.
