The F1 is making a donation of one million euros to the Emilia-Romagna region

After the cancellation of the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix due to flooding in the region, Formula 1 has committed to assisting the relief efforts in the area. Some drivers had already taken action to help the affected individuals, notably the AlphaTauri drivers who went on-site to aid the residents.

The Imola race was canceled on Wednesday after discussions between the various stakeholders of the Grand Prix. Formula 1 announced that it would donate one million euros to the relief operations in Emilia-Romagna.

The food and beverages reserved for the Paddock Club, the circuit, the teams, and hospitality have also been donated. The entirety will be given to local food banks in order to help those affected by the disaster.

In the press release, Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, expressed his concern about the situation.

« I was born and raised in the beautiful region of Emilia-Romagna, a region that is experiencing one of the saddest moments in its history.

The situation in which the inhabitants of the region find themselves is terrible, but I know that the resilience and passion of the people who live here, like many others throughout Italy, will overcome this crisis.

We must do everything in our power to support them in these difficult times, which is why we are making a donation to help support the relief efforts on the ground. On behalf of the entire Formula 1 community, my thoughts go out to all those affected, and we would like to thank the emergency services for their incredible work.
