Mercedes is fined 10,000 euros for breaking the Parc Fermé rules
The physiotherapists of the Mercedes drivers did not respect the Parc Fermé instructions and were therefore summoned by the commissioners. The team gets away with a simple fine.
After the Spanish Grand Prix won by Max Verstappen, the Dutchman was joined by the two Silver Arrows in the Parc Fermé.
Here, the physios of both men were present, as at every race. However, they would not have respected one of the rules of the Parc Fermé dictated by the race commissioners before each event.
The FIA then summoned the two physiotherapists as well as the representatives of Mercedes to explain this matter. The team ultimately faced a financial penalty of €10,000, as stated in a press release from the FIA. Moreover, they were potentially at risk of a reprimand if it had been proven that they had breached safety regulations or impeded the smooth running of the event. However, this was not the case, and no sporting sanctions were imposed.
