Hamilton believes he can catch up to Red Bull
The recent improvements made by Mercedes are working, and Lewis Hamilton has no intention of stopping there. He is aiming for a comeback to challenge the Red Bulls at the top.
Lewis Hamilton declared in the press that the Mercedes team was the strongest team in F1 and has set a goal to catch up with Red Bull after encouraging improvements have been made to the W14.

At the dawn of the 2022 season, Mercedes was the only team to arrive in Bahrain with a pontoon-less concept on the W13. Over a year later, this concept has been abandoned, and it seems to be benefiting the German team.
The weekend in Spain proved to be fruitful for Mercedes. Lewis Hamilton finished second behind Max Verstappen and ahead of his teammate George Russell. The battle for second place promises to be thrilling as Mercedes has just overtaken Aston Martin, following a double podium in Spain.
Mercedes: the strongest team for Hamilton

But the way these cars work is that they have a very specific operating window, so maybe there will be tracks where it won’t be great, but I hope not, indicates the Mercedes driver.
We took second place in the constructors’ championship and I believe we have the strongest team, especially when it comes to our driver duo. George and I are achieving excellent results weekend after weekend.
« All that is left for us is to improve our performance. What I know is that everyone is giving their best, and I hope we can catch up with Red Bull at some point. »
