Russell explains his comment about the three drivers he feels uncomfortable fighting against

George Russell insisted that his comments about feeling uncomfortable when driving alongside 3 drivers had been taken “out of context”.

The Mercedes driver suggested that a number of his peers lacked the ability to assess their surroundings in a wheel-to-wheel battle compared to the rest of the grid.

“There might be three drivers on the grid whom you wouldn’t feel comfortable against,” stated Russell.

Most drivers trust themselves. I don’t think they have the same perception of space as others.

Russell explains

Clarifying his comments during an interview with the media, Russell explained: “It’s something that was taken a bit out of context when I was asked about what it’s like to race with Max, if he is less aggressive and if I enjoy racing with him or not.”

(I) I said that I love running, or that I was more comfortable with the best drivers in the field. In general, more than with some who don’t have the same perception of space as the top drivers on the grid,” added Russell.

« Every driver on this grid is extremely talented and each one has won in their respective category during their career. »

« But it is clear that there are two or three drivers who are above the rest. »
