WEC standings after the 6 Hours of Imola: Ferrari dominates pure and simple

This race in Imola saw Ferrari dominate the race, BMW become a threat to the Scuderia. Alpine joined the points zone after achieving a podium thanks to a very good strategy and a much better performance than in Qatar.

If a hierarchy has already emerged within the peloton, everything could change from one event to the next. Proof of this is that Alpine went from a tough weekend in Qatar to a very fine performance in Imola. Cadillac, which had been strong in the opening round, stumbled in Italy.

Hypercar drivers standings

The crew of the Ferrari #51 currently dominates the driver standings. The two other 499Ps are following fairly closely. Logically, the BMWs are not far behind but already show a certain lag compared to the leading hypercars.

The Alpine #36, which secured its first podium of the season, has also opened its points tally and ranks eighth with 15 points. The last two cars not to have a blank score are the two Porsches from the Penske team.

It should also be noted that the Aston Martin Valkyries appear twice since the six drivers participated in the opening round and only four were present in Italy. It is therefore logical to differentiate them.

Hypercar Constructors Standings

No surprise, Ferrari leads this ranking with a significant 29-point advantage over BMW. Toyota scores points whenever possible, allowing the Japanese brand to secure a spot on the provisional podium.

Behind, the disappointment comes from Cadillac, whose score does not really reflect the level of performance of the car with the V8 engine.

GT3 Ranking

Finally, in this category, we find the #33 Corvette from TF Sport at the top of the standings. While the team isn’t comfortable in qualifying, their race pace is much better. The #46 BMW from WRT also made a good leap thanks to its second place at Imola.

The most notable progression remains that of the Porsche #92 from Manthey, which went from 0 to 25 thanks to its victory. The two Mercedes from Iron Lynx are the only GT3s that did not make it into the top 10 in the race.
