Grand Prix de France Historique: New information on the Line-Up

During winter testing, Jean Alesi announced on Canal+ the single-seater with which Alain Prost will take to the track: it will be the legendary McLaren TAG-Porsche.

Additionally, the president of the Paul Ricard circuit confirmed the presence of Adrien Tambay, ETCR world champion in 2022. He will have the honor of driving the McLaren M26 of his father, Patrick Tambay, who took part in the world championship in 1978. This emotionally charged moment will be a wonderful opportunity to honor the memory of Patrick Tambay, who passed away in 2022, and to celebrate his legacy in motorsport.

Australian driver Mark Webber will also be present on the Var circuit. He will take the wheel of the 2004 Jaguar R5, the last single-seater involved under the British manufacturer’s name before its acquisition by Red Bull. Webber, who began his F1 career with Jaguar before becoming a mainstay of the Red Bull Racing team, will thus get back behind the wheel of a car he raced with during the 2004 season. A great way to dive back into the recent history of Formula 1.

A Formula 1 world champion will also be on track: Jacques Villeneuve, who, for the occasion, will take the wheel of the 1980 Ferrari 312 T5. This single-seater was driven by his father, Gilles Villeneuve, one of the most beloved drivers in the history of the Scuderia. Seeing it back in action with his son at the controls promises a moment filled with nostalgia for Formula 1 enthusiasts.

Another highlight of the weekend: Victor Jabouille will take the wheel of his father Jean-Pierre Jabouille’s Renault RS10, with which the latter won the 1979 French Grand Prix at the Dijon-Prenois circuit. This historic success marked the first victory of a turbocharged engine in Formula 1, thus revolutionizing the sport.

Finally, in the additional races, a new team will participate in the 200 km race. Content creator LeBouseuh, accompanied by Étienne Moustache and Romain Monti, will take on the challenge on the Castellet track.

As a reminder, the Grand Prix de France Historique will be held on April 25, 26, and 27 at the Paul Ricard circuit.
