The French Historic Grand Prix unveils its program, with a surprise: Charles Leclerc

This year, more than 250 cars will compete in 12 races during the Kennol Grand Prix De France Historique.

After announcing, among other things, the return of Jean Alesi to the track at the wheel of his Ferrari 412 T2 with which he won the Canadian Grand Prix in 1995, other former F1 stars will also be on track.

During the press conference hosted by Julien Fébreau, who will drive an AGS, announcements of prestigious guests were made for this 7th edition: Mark Webber will drive his Jaguar, David Coulthard the F3000 that earned him the title, Adrian Newey a Ferrari, Jacques Villeneuve his father Gilles’ car, Alain Prost a McLaren, and like in 2024, René Arnoux the Renault F1 RE40.

Furthermore, Jean Alesi announced that a current F1 driver will also be present at the event and mentioned: “He will come by helicopter with me from Monaco.” There is no doubt that enthusiasts will know the identity of this driver: Charles Leclerc. Indeed, the 2025 F1 calendar includes a 10-day break between the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and the Miami Grand Prix, which will allow Charles Leclerc and also Franck Montagny to attend the event.

With 80,000 visitors last year, the Grand Prix de France Historique also expects to welcome many exhibitors, with an exhibitors’ village and a podium area as well as a fan zone.

This edition will also mark the 20th anniversary of Renault team’s glory as World Constructors’ Champion. On this occasion, the legendary 2005 R25 Formula 1 car driven by Fernando Alonso, Giancarlo Fisichella, and Franck Montagny at the time will roar its engine on the track with the latter at the wheel.

Regarding the track, various events will follow one another with the headline being the Masters Racing Legends F1: Naturally aspirated, non-turbo Formula 1 cars from the 70s to 1985. Featured models will include the Ford V8 DFV, the 1977 Lotus, McLaren M29, MP4/1C, a Ligier JS21, a Williams FW07B, and a Tyrell 012.

In addition, you can find:

– les “F2 Classic InterSeries pré 79”: Les Formule 2 d’avant 1979

– les “F3 Classic InterSeriespré 85”: Les Formule 3 d’avant 1985

– l’ “Historic Formula Juniors”: Des formules juniors de 1958 à 1963

– le “Masters Groupe C” avec des voitures ayant participé notamment aux 24h du Mans entre 1982 et 1993

– et enfin le “200 km du GPFH”

Out of competition, several parades and rides will take place with other Formula 1 cars, including more modern ones.

The highlight will be the Ferrari F1 show, featuring legendary single-seaters ranging from the 246 Dino of the 1950s to Michael Schumacher’s F310B (1997), including gems from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, and of course the Renault RS25, the 2005 F1 world champion.

A rich and varied program awaits visitors, including single-seater parades, paddock visits, Formula 1 exhibitions, simulators…
