Standings after the Sao Paulo Grand Prix: Max Verstappen just has to finish, a good move for Alpine
With his victory at Interlagos, Max Verstappen is in a position to win the World Championship title in the next race. Alpine has regained sixth place in the constructors' standings.

Starting from 17th place, the Dutchman had a fantastic race to win this Sao Paulo Grand Prix. This success allows him to take back a substantial amount of points. Red Bull’s driver has a 62-point lead over his rival, Lando Norris. If he wants to clinch the title, the triple world champion will simply have to secure it in Las Vegas in two weeks.
Behind, Charles Leclerc regained points against Lando Norris and slightly distanced Oscar Piastri. The only Ferrari driver to have completed the race is a serious contender to finish as vice-world champion.
Author of a very bad race, Lewis Hamilton lost his sixth position to his teammate. The Mercedes #44 was very difficult to drive.
