The Hungarian circuit will remain associated with Formula 1 time and time again. Present on the calendar since 1986, the Hungarian Grand Prix will continue for several more years. It is confirmed to be part of the calendar for the next nine years. This adds to the current contract, which secured its place until 2027.

The event is a must-see as many fans gather in the stands of the track located about twenty kilometers from Budapest. « “It is excellent news to announce the extension of the Hungarian Grand Prix for an additional five years,” said Stefano Domenicali, the CEO of F1, happily.

Works to anticipate

The president of the Hungaroring, Zsolt Gyulay, specified that his circuit will undergo several modifications. The main building of the paddock will be renovated, as well as the grandstand on the main straight. These renovations are expected to be completed by 2026.

« It will be a source of great satisfaction to welcome teams and fans, who will always be our main priority, to a world-class venue that will reflect the high standards you expect for a Formula 1 race weekend », details Zsolt Gyulay.

More and more popular

« Given the astonishing increase in global popularity of Formula 1, which now sees more venues than ever before vying to join the calendar, today’s signing marks an extremely significant achievement for us. »

Every year, the Hungaroring breaks its own record for the number of spectators present. Nearly 300,000 people are expected over the weekend of the 2023 edition. That’s 10,000 more than the previous year.
