Pierre Gasly interested in the 24 Hours of Le Mans
The Frenchman Pierre Gasly has indicated that he plans to participate in the biggest endurance race in the world. This story in Le Mans could be written with Alpine. But he would only be aiming for victory.
He has a burning desire to win. And he is ready to do anything to achieve new successes. If, for now, it seems complicated in Formula 1, it could be in another discipline. In endurance racing. The Frenchman told our colleagues from Top Gear that he wanted to take part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
« I will definitely try to do Le Mans in the future. For now, I am 100% focused on Formula 1 and that’s really where I see myself for the next ten years. That’s where I want to shine and push my limits, but at the same time, I see Le Mans as a legendary race, where I could participate exceptionally during a season. »
Victory, nothing else
But before committing to this path, Pierre Gasly is waiting to see the competitiveness of the Alpine A424β. Because, it would be with the French team that the Normandy driver would be tempted to participate in Le Mans. « The only imperative condition is that I want to do it to win. »
For him, achieving a top 5 or even a podium would be a disappointment. « He insists that it will really be about fighting for the win. » To accomplish that, Pierre Gasly will have his work cut out for him.
