Doriane Pin withdraws from the 24 Hours of Le Mans
The Iron Dames will have to do without Doriane Pin. The young Frenchwoman, who suffered a rib injury, has announced that she will be pulling out of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
It was supposed to be her second 24 Hours of Le Mans. But she will have to wait to participate. The young Frenchwoman has just withdrawn from this legendary endurance race.
Last week, the FRECA driver did not take part in the second race organized at Spa-Francorchamps due to rib pain. But her injury is much more serious than expected. This explains her non-participation in the 24 Hours.
As you know, I was unable to drive on Sunday. Following medical examinations, it turns out that I have fractured ribs. Healing will therefore take time, and we had to make difficult decisions for the team, not to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and also not to race in the FRECA race in Zandvoort next week, she announced on her social networks.
« It is obviously a very difficult and sad decision, especially since Le Mans is one of the biggest races of the year for me. I was looking forward to racing and sharing this week with you, as well as with the team, and doing my best for myself and the Iron Dames.
With this absence, the Iron Dames should rely on Rahel Frey to replace her. She will take the wheel with Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting.
Last year, Doriane Pin had participated in the Le Mans classic in LMP2, with the Prema team. She had not been able to see the finish, Daniil Kvyat had an accident during the night. The team had to retire.
